    Immigration procedures, documents and apostilles

Files are rejected more often for a badly prepared document than for the merits of the case. We review, apostille and translate before filing.

    Immigration paperwork, documents and apostilles

Every immigration procedure in Panama requires apostilled, translated and valid documents. We prepare and review them before your file is submitted.

    01

    Apostille

Handling the apostille of documents issued abroad so they are valid in Panama.

    02

    Consular legalization

For documents from countries that are not part of the Hague Convention.

    03

    Official translation

Translation by an authorized public interpreter of any document not issued in Spanish.

Who needs documents apostilled or legalised?

    • Foreign nationals preparing a residency application in Panama.
    • Families who must validate marriage or birth certificates.
    • Professionals who need to revalidate a university degree.
    • Investors filing corporate documents issued abroad.
    • Companies needing powers of attorney valid before Panamanian authorities.
    • People handling pensions, inheritances or contracts with effects in two countries.

    How document validation works

    Hague Apostille

Applies to documents issued in signatory countries and makes them valid in Panama without further consular steps.

    Consular legalisation

For non-signatory countries, the document is legalised before the foreign ministry of origin and the Panamanian consulate.

    Official translation

Any document written in another language must be translated by a public translator authorised in Panama.

    Limited validity

Police records and health certificates expire, so the timeline of the file is planned so that nothing lapses.

    Notarial protocolisation

Some documents must be raised to a public deed before a Panamanian notary before they can be filed.

    Degree revalidation

Foreign university degrees are recognised through the revalidation process at the University of Panama.
